Thousands of stray dogs and cats roam the streets of Los Angeles. This is a major and increasing problem in certain Los Angeles communities. Often, these helpless strays are neglected or abandoned by their owners and left to constantly fight for survival. Unfortunately, the life of a stray is usually very short. Every day of their lives is a battle against abuse, hunger, harsh weather conditions, sickness, other aggressive animals and traffic accidents. Many of these not so lucky animals suffer and end up dead on the streets – the luckier ones end up at the pound where they fight for attention and hope that some kind soul adopts them. Unfortunately though, due to overcrowding in shelters, for many of these pets, their stay at the pound is short lived and only after a few days they are sent off to be euthanized.
No animal, under any circumstance deserves to live that type of life and face those types of hardships. Every single one of us can do our part to help slowly decrease the number of helpless strays that aimlessly roam the streets of our beautiful city.
There is Hope Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that has been fighting the battle against animal abuse and abandonment for over a decade and, in doing so, has helped thousands of animals find their forever homes. We are dedicated to rescuing, medically treating, spay/neutering and finding homes for as many animals as we possibly can. In fact, our goal is to make Los Angeles County stray free!
We rescue dogs and cats off the streets, from overcrowded shelters and from abusive and negligent owners. Due to these living conditions, often times, these helpless animals are in a poor mental and physical state of being and require special care and medical treatment. Through the help of volunteers who generously contribute their time and money, we work hard to make sure that each and every one of these pets gets the love and care they deserve.
